Aliens.
Well, the literal translation for the Immigration Department here is the Alien Office. I was sposed to go there to register my residency in germany, but I still haven't gotten around to doing it. Oh wells. Heh. I have till the end of May anyways. *shrugs* But that's not the point. My boss is perpetually laughing at me and asking me what planet I'm from coz I still ahven't registered with the alien office. -.- Ok, moving on. Yesterday, I decided to take a break from work and go see the doc about my bruised arm. A couple of pple were telling me to get it checked (so kanchiong la!) and mommy was nagging me the most. So I took a walk down. Then the lady doc there exclaimed i needed to go for xray and there's the firemen driving a car from EADS already on the way to pick me up!! Like, huh?! I didnt even have my wallet, or my ID! Just my phone and my pass that lets me get into the office building!!! So they talked to the dude who agreed to drive me back so I could get my stuff and my Insurance card thingie. So they threw me in this place, where the Doc decided to xray me, duh. And so there I was, waiting, and he comes up with my xrays and shows em to me. Well, looked perfect to me, nothing broken. A lil bit of wear along some edges, but other than that fine. (yesh, teoh taught us how to read xrays, remember?) And this is what he said: Doc: "Hmm. You broke your wrist you know." Me!: "Har? What? But I can still move it! And I mean, it can't have healed in 10 days!" Doc: "No, no, not now, it's old. It's healed. You knew you broke before that right?" Me!: "No... I would remember breaking or hurting my RIGHT wrist coz I've always wanted to get out of school and writing. :S" Doc: "But it's definitely an old injury. See, these bones are the same length. This one is usually longer. And you see here? Something's missing." Me!: *blink blink* (Uhh, but if it's old how come it hurts NOW. My reaction can't be THAT delayed. --> but i didn't say that. Didn't wanna incur the doc's wrath. Summore it's harder to say these things in German u know. haha.) Doc: "So we'll splint your arm and put it in a half cast and we'll see what happens next week ok? We can tell then if it's an old injury or the new one." long pause..... as i think Me!: "uhhhh. can i choose the color of my cast-y thingie? *grins*" Bad idea to continue boarding after banging up my wrist I guess. But it was worth it. *grins* As long as I dun have to go for an operation (coz that would mean no more SQ!~ operations anywhere else is fine as long as not forearms, neck and face!) it was totally worth it la. Snowboarding was GORGEOUS!!! *grins* But anyway, missing piece leh!! How can something suddenly go missing from my wrist!!! And how can he try and convince me it was old! Contrary to what some people think, I could never forget hurting my right wrist. I played piano and had to write too many essays in school to yearn for a day I would sprain or bang up my hand. And that day NEVER CAME!! Now you tell me it did but I somehow healed myself in like 10 secs? Cannot be lor!! So my boss's rection was: haha. Did you tell them you have yet to report to the Alien Office? Coz maybe that isn't so weird if you're not an alien. -.- And it's ok if the bone's shorter than it's supposed to be. You're shorter than you're sposed to be too! And, h's theory is that the doc thought I was some lil girl and wanted to stop me complaining so he splinted my arm up and shushed me instead of explaining it to me. And me asking for a color didn't help it. -nyeh- And even better, he said the piece was prolly missing all my life. SO no point worrying. How can that not make me worry MORE!! Basket!! Always happens to me leh!! Last time I freaked daddy out with my 90 blood pressure. Now I have to tell them I have a missing piece in my hand. Haha. Gosh! Wonder what else I'll find. Mebbe I should go for a full body xray man! Then they might find all the missing pieces stuck in a corner somewhere and then they can take it all and add it to my height so I can go back home and fly for RSAF! Hah! So now it's just a waiting game. Ladida. :S In the meantime, I have a cool weapon. That's RED! (Coz they didn't have pink. Tee hee.)

flying!~
So today, for the first time, I flew a plane!! Well, not IN a plane, (ok, yes, IN a plane, but not just flying IN the plane but flying THE plane) but I actually took the controls in the air! About like 5000ft above Munich. Tee hee. :) SOooooo exciting!!! I like had to wake up at 6.30 on a SUNDAY!! And then WALK for 15 mins to the train station coz the buses only start at 9am on sundays. :S But then I went to the airfield at Dachau and everything was gorgeous! The grass was green, the weather was gorgeous, and I got the planes out of the hangar. Even got a lil baggie just in case, coz it was my first ever flight!! Tee hee. So went up in the plane, and it was coolness!! I could see everything! (With two cushions under me and behind my back) So I tilted the plane so it pointed downwards so I could get an even better view. Hur hur hur. Halfway up already he said. "Ok, you control now." So funn!! So I slowly moved the sticks and made 360 turns, and went up and down. Haha. Nothing like the Sim la!! He was laughing at me. Again. He said, in the sim you made such daring movements! WHy not now?? You can do this! --> Then he spun around so hard it was like 2G force! My hand's so heavy!! Now I knew what it was like to be heavier man. Haha. Or this --> Climp up and then suddenly dive down so it was ZERO G! Or even climb up so high, and wait until u have zero speed, then stall, and fall!! And then recover. :) Like sitting in a roller coaster like that!! And one that *i* controlled!! And I was meant to be a pilot not a passegner. I only started feeling woozy after half an hour the moment he took over the controls to land. =) Coolness. TIll next week. Wheee!!

innsbruck
so anyway, i've decided to buy my own snowboard. to match my new snowboard jacket. =))) I was happily walking around the other day, and i saw a super pretty jacket on sale!! And it was amazingly cheap for something waterproof and warm and meant for snowboarding! It had sooo many pockets, and it was a *little* too big for me but that was ok. Coz it was a gorgeous color! Haha. And the reason why it was so cheap was coz it was from the kiddies section. Hahahha. :) So convenient right? I can buy so much more here coz I can choose frm the kiddies stuff too!! :) And I saw this really really really pretty board. But the boss told me to wait till next month when the prices will plummet. Hee. Anyway, Innsbruck was sooooo lovely!! Nearly missed my train coz I had to WALK to the dinky train station. It was a public holiday. spance so would have killed me if I didnt turn up la. Hahaha. In fact he got a msg and thought it was me missing my train. Hee. So Innsbruck is this GORGEOUS place thats surrounded by mountains. Every direction you turn you see mountains!! And it's like a quaint little village!! Mommy called me on the first day I was there to check what I was doing, and it was so funny! Coz at the end of the conversation, we realised that I was staying in the same place my mommy and daddy stayed in like, 24 years ago!! On their 3 month backpacking budget honeymoon! Haha. But I think they did the coolest thing la! 3 months budget, and then 2 years ago they went across the same budget route, but stayed in 5star hotels. And they said bothe were super fun. Heh. Budget is cool coz you really meet the coolest people! Like dudes from the UK who teach you how to juggle, dudes from the US who just finished medicine talking complete nonsense, REALLY cute mice chewing up my pretty new caddy, the kid of the owner of the hotel who thinks i should go set up a business coz i can con(vince) pple. whahahah. In the end we moved to another place for the last night la. The mouse was cute. But my bag was more impt. Heh. I guess a budget place that survived for 24 years isnt really a good idea. =p Anyway on to boarding!! The owner of the ski place knew upon looking at me that I was from singapore and I was mixed and had chinese and indian blood. But refused to believe that spance was frm sg coz he kept insisting spance was from china. whahahahahahaha. I liked him. Used to be some famous skier or smth. I dunno. Hugo Nindl. *shrugs* Tried skiing but didn't really like it. Had to switch to my "young punk" snowboard after awhile. Spance of course is too old man coz after half an hr on the snowboard he switched back to skis. Super farnee!! The dude renting out the snowboards kept going "Snowboarding ist scheiße" and when I boarded down to the entrance at the end of the day he walked back in and exclaimed "Good god." to spance. Hee. But I had to use kiddie skies. =( and the snowboard was way to long for me so on the last day i went somewhere else and then boarded like a pro! Whahaha. So thats an excuse for me to get my own equipment. Coz most shops dont have my size!!! Grr. Coz most kids my size already have their own stuff. =p But that first day, on the super long board, when I got more and more ambitious, I went super fast, and saw a bump, and decided to try jumping. Well. Bad idea cos I landed on my wrist. =( Evil spance just laugheD!! But then not-so-evil spance went all the way down the mountain to get me a big glass bottle of mineral water. =) And he fell off the lift coz the bottle was so big! Then he rescued me, but still laughed. :S And called me a drama queen! Bah. Since I wasnt gonna let a lil banged up wrist stop me, I bought proper boarding gloves with guards on BOTH sides of the wrist, and then perservered man!! Haha. With one hand held a lot closer than the other. But wah! Spance was super good la! Could ski like a pro after just one day liao!! We went up the Olympic mountain on the last day by the way. Spance had to force me up coz I was soooo scared since my hand was feeling worse and I didnt want to fall off a cliff coz I couldnt stop. Hahahah. And we were told they closed a bit of the beginner slope so we had to go down the BLACK slope. BLACK. Even more danger than RED. Hahaha. But in the end I went up coz it would be worse if he had to go up alone lor. With skis. And when we got up there it was GORGEOUS!! As in, really gorgeous!! Everything was white. And completely silent. Amazing la! You really feel on top of the world! I was made for mountains as much as I am made for beaches man. Wonder if theres anywhere I can get BOTH. Hmmm. So again, we almost missed our bus, but was ok. Haha. It was worth it man. Even worth the banged up and bruised wrist. Which swelled up more. But spance said it wasnt broken or fractured. And laughed. :S -nyeh-

The new love of my life.
Snowboarding. I am absolutely in love with it. I love the speeds I can get up to, I love the rush when you're going so super fast and you can't stop! And I love the sun on my face, and the snow under my feet anytime it gets too hot. I arrived in Zurich on Friday night coz I skived off work. Heh. All that OT needs to be carried over la. ;) And when I went for dinner nearly fainted at the price!! 3 people, and it was 200 Francs!! I didn't even have dessert or a starter coz I ate on the train and it was already 9pm!!! *faint* I'm so not gonna live there man. Costs too much. So we left in the morning kinda late coz we got back late, and stopped over at Heidiland. Gorgeous little place where there's a Marché. Hehe. To have brekkie. :) Yumm. So by the time we arrived in the village it was round about lunchtime. The town we stayed in was this small little village. It was gorgeous! Small little huts and streets. One huge palace in the middle of the whole place where celebrities get lifted in by helicopters. One of those show-off-y places. The kind where people who have money love to go to, to be seen and to show off. The palace was really pretty though! And right across from it were all the shops. Prada, Gucci, Dolce&Gabana. Haha. Yes, they're smart. Place it strategically so the wealthy can go and splurge. And the wonderful thing about these shops? They treat everyone like princesses coz they think if you could afford to be up here, you can afford to buy their stuff! Haha. So anyway, we stayed abt 10-15 minutes from this grandeur. In a quaint lil place. Also called a palace by the way, but not THE palace. It was small, little, old. Celebrated it's 100 years while we were there by the way. High high ceilings with a small lounge and a grand piano. I loved it! Sooooo old-style. Gorgeous I say. Even took a photo of it while I was coming down the ski-lifts. It's the green thing in the middle of the photo. Look at how big it is compared to the rest! It isn't a very good photo coz we were too high up though, but it was a HUMONGOUS place compared to all the 'little' villas next to it! Haha. (Besides, I didn't wanna risk taking my phone out too far down coz I was afraid I'd ding it up again!) So I arrived in the afternoon all set to board and guess what! Rental shop closed for lunch on a Saturday aftn!! 12-2. =( So no point going coz the weather seemed to be taking a turn for the worse. So the first day I was there instead of boarding down the slopes, I was walking up and down the slopes from one shop to another, from one cafe/lounge/bar to another. Yes, the whole day was spent shopping and eating. Eating so much! Yumm!! My uncle said there should have been some champagne effect though. What with it being about 1600m above sea level. But didn't hurt my appetite or my sleep cycle. Hur hur hur. So met this chubby italian friend of my uncle's. He's pretty nice. But he supposedly only understands one langauge. Hahaha. That starts with S. And ends with X. Which means he drives the perfect car for that. The kind all the girls wanna hop into. Heh. So anyway, this guy is a really interesting character. Every hotel he goes to, he goes to the Concierge. Says, wait. Leaves the baggage there, and then goes up to see the room first! So he goes from room to room until he's perfectly satisfied with the view, and the bed, and whatever! And we're talking about top hotels here. 6-star. Not normal dinky ones. BTW, they're all super amused coz I call em Uncle and Aunty So-and-so. But I have to! They're so old!! 40+ *faint* So we met him at this REALLY cool lounge where this waiter there tried to chat me up. Haha. I think it's so amusing that spance and yingchao got mistaken for japanese, and the bartender asks ME if i was from shanghai. *faint* And when I said singapore typical answer? Oh! Singapore! I've been there? "uh-huh, sure. *polite smile*" But this guy really had! He knew chinatown and Lil India and Sentosa! Been there about 10+ times apparently! Hahah. Coolness. So I was ordered to go down there again if I'm ever in St. Moritz again. Yeah, in my dreams. Heh. And in the evening we went for dinner with this dude. He used to be the number 2 for Walt Disney in the US. Marketing Director. But then he decided to retire coz he made rolls of money (helped that his daddy was rich) and move back to switzerland. but of course, for his retirement trip he and his WHOLE family decided to do a biking trip across Europe. 3 months! Of sleeping in tents by the road and going from point A to point B on bicycles! How cool is that!!! And so anyway, he owns a holiday home there. With like 10+ rooms. And all authentic from 200 years ago or smth. His daddy bought the house 60 years ago for "nothing" (translated to at least 2 million francs seeing as to how its worth at least 15-20 mill now) and everything in there is authentic! Low low ceilings, original stovepipes, lil 4 poster beds. Original stuff. And in the attic, there's this room from the 12th century that they liked, and airlifted in. Haha. All the wood and the hinges and everything was hand made and original. Just like in the movies with the knights! über cool! But, I don't think I would wanna live there, a lil creepy and the rooms have low ceilings. So claustraphobic. Haha. Oh oh oh! And they have stables leading right into the house!! Coolness!! In fact, most of the villas there look the same, but this one is one of the few where the internals were completely NOT modernised. Sehr schön! So we had dinner at this place I can't remember the name of where I met more people. Gah! One of them was complaining coz he was sposed to attend a premiere of Ice Age 2! I wanted to watch that!! But at the last minute they managed to get out of it and meet us for dinner instead. -.- Gah! What a trade-off!~ Anyways. The next day managed to go snowboarding! Woke up at 7am (so much for holidays!) and got up on the slopes. Perfect weather!! Cloudless skies, nice snow! After the whole morning, I felt pro enough to get off the baby slopes and onto the SUPER STEEP mountain!! I was on the alps man!! Woo hoo!!! At first a bit freaky la. Coz it's so steep that when ur on the way down, u can't see what's over the next rise. But once I mastered the art of going down vertically so I won't go fast and fly into the open sky it wasn't so bad. haha. I had to go down a really steep slope for lunch, you see. Impt. Food. Haha. If not I wouldn't have dared take the risk to go so high up and so fast!! They were having this event up in the mountains by the way. Near the lodge we were eating. People were sposed to ski all the way down, and if they were fast enough, there's this pool of water in the middle that they'd be able to surf completely across. Like water skiing. Unfortunately, the entire time we were there no one did it. Haha. And the weather was so nice guys were going down in berms and tees. And girls were wearing bikinis. Haha. Kinda gross though, when they wear bikinis with all their cellulite hanging out. :S But anyways, rambling too long already la. Nothing much else happened (other than the fact that there was this pretty boy from Germany who now lives in the south of france - who my aunt thinks is some rich lady's toy boy coz he's wearing his prada sport shades and he looks cool but he was there ALONE. and whats there in the south of france man. haha. oh, and some other guys who were testing out this new brand of skis that again tried to chat us up. "I'm sorry, I don't speak german." *grins*) I'm there to snowboard man!!! Not to get picked up!!! Grrr. So the next day when I was waiting for the train back to Munich, this dark blue Rolls pulled up from the palace. *faint* So ostentatious man. And 2 guys stepped out. Hahah. Immediate reaction: "gay". Naturallya. They were dressed so perfectly! And wearing scarves that way. Heh. So they did go on the train I was on coz it's this all-famous scenic train ride. Of course there was a world of difference. They travelled first class. And for me, 118 swiss francs (about S$160) was already too ex to pay to get from point A to point B. I need my car man. =( That way I'll pay on petrol not on dinky trains. Ah wells. :) Only if I'm staying here long term. Or if I'm driving to wherever I decide to stay. ;) Along the way to Munich the train stopped in St. Gallen!! So i hopped out and went touring around with spance and bought like at LEAST 50 euros worth of choccies!! *faint* I already finished half of them. hahahah. :) So anyway, I loved it so much that I might be taking advantage of the LAST week of the season during Easter! Tee hee. =) I so wanna get a pink board and suit. But I have to wait till I get really good before I look like that. Already going out there in a bright orange jacket and matching ski-shades. With completely white insides and ski-pants (so as not to draw attention) was bad enough!! Especially since the board I rented had orange flowers on it. So matching! Haha. Coolness. ;) Especially since the outfit was mix-and-match and borrowed. Ah wells. Actually, I just got back from the Red Bull Hangar 7. More pix to come soon! But rambled too long already. Hee. :)

Top 10 things I've learnt so far
It's been awhile since i updated!! Wahh! Almost half a month!! Soooo much has happened!! But since I don't have that much time, I'll just do a SUPER brief update and do a more detailed one uhm. Next time? :p 1. Eating Fast The trick to eating fast is to NOT TALK! Yes yes, you can all say what you want about me and not talking. But when you're at a table with like 5 other guys, who eat super duper ultra fast. And you eat super duper ultra slow. Well, you'll get 5 guys waiting for one girl. And I already eat like, how slow. Imagine if I were to happily go on talking the way I do while eating. They wait even more lor!! But by NOT talking, I eat a LOT faster. They still have to wait for me la, but not that long. :) And anyway, most of the time they speak in German. 2. English Most people wanna practise their english. PLUS, Matlab and stuff are all in English. Which means I've been speaking English most of the time. Sigh. =( Must practise more German!! So my English grammar has improved coz a lot of them will ask me the most basic questions that I feel like an English teacher, but my German. :S 3. WOrk That I love working! I love it so much that now, at 9pm, I'm still at work! Haha. Scary rite, me and work. :P 4. Sunburn That I can get sunburnt in winter. Yes, I am burnt. Completely. To a crisp. And the weirdest thing? Only my face!! Well, over the weekend I went to St. Moritz. And the weather was PERFECT! It was sunnier than in SG coz there were NO CLOUDS, and yet it was cool enough that the snow was all there!! (In fact, when I left on Monday it was snowing in the morning). That meant INTENSE solar radiation to my face, sans the area where I wore my goggles. So if there was a raccoon dressed up as rudolph, that's what I would look like right now. 5. Someone up there loves me. :) When I arrived, I was hoping and praying it would snow. And it did. SO much!! And then I had to go snowboarding. And the weather was perfect just for the time I was there!! No earlier, and no later! And then here, when i got back, it started snowing again!! In spring!!! I mean like, if it had continued snowing all the way it would be ok la. But one day of COMPLETE sunshine just for me to go snowboarding in nice weather was perfect la! Sans the sunburn. But hey, there's a price for everything, and this was worth it!! I think I am gonna go snowboard again next weekend!! Hee. :) 6. Phones and Scratches Scratches occur even when falling into water. Or frozen water. Or snow to be exact. Haha. While snowboarding my chio v3i falls out of my pocket (coz I'm so pro I go so fast. Haha.) And then when I get it, coz the dinky cover only covers it halfway, there's a small little ding where the cover doesn't cover it. =( I knew I should have bought the helicopter super-scratch-proof cover for it. SIghs. Oh wells. At least it wasn't a pink phone that got scratched. :p 7. I love snow. That I'm a mountain girl. Haha. As in, I love being outdoors and running around. Beats shopping any day. I don't like sightseeing much, I would rather DO things. Like snowboard, or go learn how to fly a plane, or something like that. Hee. 8. I hate taking photos Haha. Yes, I actually knew that from before. But even now, I'd rather revel in the moment than capture it for next time. It's all up here *points to my head* But of course that doesn't mean that I won't use my cam la. Haha. I do occasionally take a few photos. :) 9. Cooking! Like when I cooked my first meal! I took a lot of photos for that ok! Coz I was so proud of the fact, and coz the food actually looked (and tasted!) really really yumm!! And for me to say something tastes yumm, I actually mean it la. Not just coz I cooked it! Hahha. But so far, I can make french toast, scrambled eggs, pasta, omelettes with cheese and mushrooms and uhhmm. I think that's it. For now. Haha. Haven't experimented that much. ;) But this doesn't change anything. I only cook because I have to. Once I'm living with someone else who can cook, it's over. Heh. Hence the photos. A once-in-a-lifetime thing, that. 10. I want my Beetle. I am more in love with it now than ever before and I am seriously contemplating buying a Cinquecento here, and then driving it back to Singapore (coz driving back will be an adventure in itself) and I so wouldn't mind just leaving the car in my garden. Haha. Make it a playground. Or rip the engin out and modify it so I can make it my bed. Hee.
