*blink blink*
"Ist die spanisches mädchen nicht hier heute?" translated literally: is the little girl from spain not here today? i dunno which part of it tickled me more. the fact that he called me a little girl_ or the fact that he thought i was spanish. (background info: it was the nice nice nice security guard who set up the projector in the conference room just for me to watch the first spain-ukraine match that NO ONE ELSE was interested in during office hours. 3pm. Haha.)

no time!~
what with the world cup, and so many matches going on in one day, i've had absolutely no time to type out a proper entry!! i'll upload the pretty WC pictures soon though. We had GREAT seats! It was right smack along the centreline of the field. Amazing. Saw everything!~ Including the non-goal that was so obviously a goal!! before the match, watching the players warm up from the front row, that was surreal! you're so close you can hear everything they say!~ hmm. if france don't make it through, this means i would have officially watched zidane's last match live. oh wells. not gonna go into analysis of the teams and what i think coz i've been doing that way too often. so. *shrugs* all in all. berlin/leipzig was great!~ =) and so was the world cup.

=)
you know, i think the best way ever to be complimented is when compliments are paid without expecting anything in return. like stopping some random stranger in the street and telling them u think they're really schön. haha. without expecting a number or a drink or anything. *grins*

world cup :(
you know, all my years watching the world cup, and i have never stuck on after a match to see the players walk off and celebrate. ( Other than when brazil won in the last world cup and i caught a glimpse of a certain player that never really got to play but looked really cool coz he was ONE brazilian who seemed to have already gone for orthodontic work. :P Kaka. Hehe.) Even then, i was so fixated on brazil that I didn't pay much attention to the losing team. Or maybe I did but I just don't remember it. You know, short-term memory and all, especially when it comes to sad endings. But in recent times, the moment the final whistle blows, I go. Until yesterday. Paraguay vs Sweden. I left the tele on coz I was too lazy to move, just watching the after-match celebration. And then, for some reason, the cameras kept focusing on the Paraguay players. :(((((( They were so defeated. And so sad. And so.. completely.. haiz. I mean, the goalie was almost in tears I think. I mean, thankfully I switched the tele off after the Polish-German game! That might have been worse considering he completely didn't deserve the red card! And the Polish held out for SOOOO long. (Although the germans did have a lot of chances, and Odonkor was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!) That would have been sooooo tragic. This is something they love, it's a sport. For most of us, it's just a game that we watch, and complain about, and make silly comments on. But for them, it's their lives. Literally. How well they do in a game like this determines how much they take home to their wives and kiddies. Especially with the World Cup. Where all eyes are centered on you. Everything hangs on how well you perform in those few matches. Minimum 3, maximum 7. It's where you get noticed by fans. But yet, therein lies the irony. You have to perform well enough to be noticed, but ultimately, it isn't how good YOU are, but how well you fit in with the rest of the team. So imagine, when after two games, you're kicked out. When you've given your all to the game, but you know if only that one didn't go through. If only you had fought harder, or run harder or something like that. Urghs.

bleh
i hate it when i type out a whole nice long entry, and it gets eaten up by the evil blog server! and this is the first time it's happened! and the dinky 'recover post' option doesn't work either. so i'm not gonna bother retyping the whole thing, i'll just do what i do worst. summarize. haha. :p basically, a grand total of 3 pple have laughed at me over the article and the photo, which i can put up here coz like, well, it's public now:
yes, someone laughed and said it was like a kid after her first plane ride. and that it was hilarious imagining me as an engineer. -.- you guys weren't meant to read it! that's why it's good that it's only 3 people. :) doesn't help that at the airfield most of the other kids learning to fly thought i was 17 or 18 either. -nyeh- ooh. but it was pretty funny though. my parents and bros are getting more than me. thank god i'm not in singapore man. when my bro was at the airfield this old man came up to him and asked if his sister was me. haha. hilarious. thanks to our infamous name. 8-)

my fave instructor. :)
so i didn't go watch deftones and keane and metallica and the rest of the gang, but i went flying instead. heh. and i found my new favourite instructor!! he's the coolest!! i mean, he let's me do the coolest things, and instead of telling me off, he laughs!! like doing really steep turns, more than 45 degrees. round and round and round as we climb. haha. perfect person to experiment with!! and then i started climbing so high until the wings stalled, which sent the plane into an immediate nosedive! how cool is that!!! hahaha. and after half an hour he decided it was time we went down to give the others a chance? but i was already all the way at the top, coz i was turning so much i was at the maximum altitude before hitting the commercial liners airspace. so what does he do to get us down to landing altitude? (150m) he does a vertical nosedive!~ tee hee. :) then to slow us down coz we were do fast he pulled up. and then we went into a zero g phase again. coolness! =) and the coolest thing about the glider? u can land while in a dive. coz the spoilers are sooooo cool that they stop u almost instantly. hee. ;)

tough decisions. :S
I had to make a really tough call this weekend. :S june 2-4th. Rock im Park --> http://bands.rock-im-park.de Just take a look at the bands playing there. All in one place. All in one weekend. On the same stage. *faint* And I managed to secure myself a ride there, and back. With camping and what not all covered!! Which means €130 for an entire weekend of gorgeous music!! But then look here --> http://fifaworldcup.com Only happens once every FOUR years. And, how often will one be in the country where it's happening. Let alone get tickets to watch a match! *scream* yes. I got tickets!! Hee. To watch France play!!! Wheeee!! Zidane! Silvestre! Trezeguet! Henry!! =) Yummy. But you see, they were Cat.1 tickets, which didn't come cheap. And it means I need to take time off work to go travel and watch the match. Which means, I had less time to take time off to watch the rockers in the park. :'( So I had to forgo rock-im-park coz it happens every year. and coz there's another festival similar to that --> http://www.southside.de with both The Strokes AND Death Cab!! So, I had to plan my off days. Why this big collation of Off days? Well. Simple. Might be going Pamplona/Morocco in July, and might take time off in August if i can't go see the bulls with Spance then. :) And in August/Sept/Oct, will be a steady drain on my funds as I tour round this whole region. ;) Hee. But alls well that ends well I guess. Coz I'm going FLYING! Tee hee. =)
