*yawn*
The last time I had to wake up this early, I would get detention if I came late to class. Yes, back in the days when I still had to wear a uniform to school.
Now, it's like retribution for the years I spent sleeping in. Classes start most days at 8.30am. If I wanna have a shower, and a slow leisurely breakfast (meaning 2 bowls of cereals and my peanut-butter-nutella sandwiches) that means I'd have to wake up around 7am.
Oh, did I mention I walk to school cos I stay about a 20 minute stroll away. And this is what I see every morning on the way to school. It makes waking up so early almost bearable.

I love this photo cos it's snapped with my oldest camera with no effects whatsoever. In fact, in real life, it's even more gorgeous than it looks in the photo.
Pretty Pisa. =)

My birthday!
So about a month ago, I celebreated my birthday here.
All things considered, it should have been blah. I arrived 3 days before my birthday meaning (a) no one would have known when my birthday was (b) no one should have known me well enough to do anything
but in the end, what happened was, I got myself surprised with a pretty pink cake. with cherries on top. =)
And after dinner at the (incredibly cheap) mensa, and hunting for a knife to cut the cake, we ened up sitting down at the base of the tower of pisa, with my cake in my hands.
But, of course, with all stories that involve Farhana, nothing ends as it should. I never ended up cutting the cake, or eating it, cos it ended up smashed in my face. Again, I say this was at the bast of the leaning tower. With the police car next to us. As a mass of cake went into my face, and then onto the floor.
Yes, I am sure there are pictures. I *felt* the flashes go off as i wiped the pink stuff off. But no, I ain't gonna upload em. Because I didn't bother asking for them. *sticks tongue out*
But to make up for it, a coupla days later. The doofus who was responsible for depriving everyone of some really good pink cake (ok, not *that* good, i tasted some of it) made up for it, by getting something for Lilli.

Supposedly the 'best' pasticceria in Pisa. Yet to be proven although I admit, it was soo yummy! Gelato centre, with hazelnut cream and chocolate, and lil hazelnuts all over, and a fine dusting of cocoa powder on the top. *YummmMMM*
So this time I finished about half the cake I think. Hee.

reappearance
finally, after a super long absence, i am back. and yes, once again, i'm not in singpaore so i need somewhere where pple can go see what i'm up to without complaining that i disappeared. =)
and i am in the land of pizza, pasta and gelato. not sick of any of the above, although i think my tongue is rebelling. pple get rope burn or blisters from shoes. i think i just got a gelato-burn on my tongue from eating too many gelatos in a day. ( on average about 2 per day) and i am thinking i have to abstain cos it stings when i eat anything other than gelato. haha. which affects my pizza and pasta intake you see.
and on the subject of food. you have to hear how cheap the food in the cafeterias are! for €2.50, you get:
first course : rice (risotto) / pasta - all in different forms on different days second course : meat / pizza / pies / etc. side dishes : fries / salad / vegetarian stuff and dessert / yogurt / fruit.
of course, if you're like me and you don't eat meat, you skip course 2, and you pay only €1.60. Or if you're on a diet and don't want carbs you skip course 1 and don't eat the ravioli or gnocchi or whatever. and u pay €2.
oh, did i mention the main point for the guys in the course though? the fact that all the drinks are freeflow. ALL. from water, to coke, to lemonade. to beer. yes. for as little as €1.60, you can have unlimited beer with your meal. and according to them it tastes really good. haha. not that i would know, cos i've always been an acqua naturale girl. =)
and naturally, after talking all about food, i am sooo hungry and shall head down to the Mensa now. If it's possible, i think i am eating more now than i was in singapore.

Angel's Hair
Last year, while in Milano, I fell in love with a watch. Since they had a boutique in Paris too, I thought, ok, I'll think about it for a coupla weeks, and get it when I'm there. Unfortunately, the watch, was only available in Milan. And I found this out after searching high and low for the place in Paris. =(
A couple months later someone wanted to help me buy it, but he didn't find the time cos he had to rush for his train.
And now, finally, a year later, I'm back. So guess what the first thing I bought after I landed in Milano was?

*grins* they only had a size small left. How absolutely meant for me. =)
